Date Action Comments
8/13/2010 Troubleshooting Sonde 2742 stop working since 8-4-10 at 10:20pm CST. It is retrieved and sonde 32625 is deployed.
8/11/2010 Troubleshooting FreWave Radio No.911-1981 is installed at the station and communication with Tower is fixed.
8/9/2010 Troubleshooting we lost communication with the station since 8-4-10 at 10:20pm CST. The FreeWave radio No. 914-9460 is retrieved for testing.
8/4/2010 Inspection Air pressure retrieved for recalibration. A calibrated one is installed.
7/14/2010 Maintenance Retrieved sonde for few minutes to measure distance from bottom of water to deck.\nAccording to the measurements the sonde is installed all the way down to the bottom of the water. Distance from main deck to water level sensor is 2.34m. \n
7/9/2010 Maintenance Retrieved sonde 2925 and 2742 deployed. Sonde 2925 were giving bad water height readings.
7/8/2010 Inspection Sonde 3016 retrieved and sonde 2925 deployed. DO and Chrolophyll probes had mud on the optical surface.

Station Elevation Information

A survey was conducted on July 12, 2003 to determine the vertical elevation of a reference point near the Pump House located behind the DeFelice Marine Center. To review the full version of this survey in PDF format Click Here.
The survey was conducted by:

Houma, LA. 70361

The following correction factors should be applied:
  Feet Meters
NAVD 88 Correction Term (Subtract from Database Sonde Value) 4.10 1.25

EXAMPLE: Given a water height reading from the sonde of 5.25 feet (1.6 meters) the following calculation can be made:

Water Height = Sonde Water Height - NAVD 88 Correction Term

1.6 meters (5.25ft) - 1.25 meters (4.1 ft) = 0.35 meters (1.15 ft)

RESULT: 0.35 meters (1.15 ft) Relative to NAVD 88 Datum

Note:All archive depth data is reported in meters.
